Our Beavers colony goes from strength to strength, with the number of members at a maximum. Our leadership team is at full stretch, and are grateful for the help of young leaders, 14 or 15 year olds who have all progressed through the group and are already putting something back, in addition to being members of the District Explorer Scout unit.
If there are any adults who would be prepared to help at our Beaver colony, please contact the group.

2016 was the year that cub scouts celebrated their 100th anniversary, during that time they took part in several ‘Cub 100’ events, including District Field day at Fan Wood and the County celebration camp at Bradley Wood. Friday 16th December was designated as the day when cubs throughout the UK would renew their promise together. Our cubs incorporated their renewal into the Christmas party celebrations at the HQ.
Girls and boys between the ages of 8 & 10 are always welcome to join our pack in Hunsworth.

As part of their Christmas celebration, the Scouts visited ‘Adrenaline’, an indoor trampoline park, with over 140 connected trampolines; great fun was had by all. This was followed by party food and games, back at the HQ.
The 2017 District competitions kicked off with the 5 a side football tournament which is run in two leagues, our team lost only one of their league matches, but this was not sufficient to get them into the final. The overall winners were the 7th Spen Valley (Gomersal)

The group is making plans for its’ main fund raising event of the year, the Summer Gala, held on Hunsworth recreation Ground adjacent to the HQ on Sunday 21st May. Already, we are collecting items suitable for raffle and tombola prizes, bottles, books and toys. Any donations would be gratefully received.
